Overlockers (known as sergers in the US) are great pieces of kit and I certainly wouldn't be without mine. They stitch and finish seams whilst cutting the fabric all at the same time and you get a finish that is much more reminiscent of shop bought clothing.
But, until you understand them totally they can be a pain. When I first started to use mine I managed to unthread it somehow and spent it felt like hours and hours trying to rethread it. I then immediately broke a needle and nearly threw it out of the window. Sound familiar?
We have 2 workshops that will help anyone with an overlocker - from those just starting out to those that are looking for advanced ways in which to use it.
