The Captivating Clutch sewing pattern features comprehensive instructions, pattern pieces, and colour photographs, as well as a handy pieces diagram to help you choose where to use your fabric (and which way up to cut it!).

Although it was originally designed as a beginner sewing pattern, The Captivating Clutch is classified as an intermediate pattern as it does require focus. If you follow the pattern instructions step by step you'll have a Captivating Clutch in no time. The Captivating Clutch sewing pattern is written in UK English and has been thoroughly tested by a team of expert pattern testers, including beginner bag makers.

The paper sewing pattern is an A5 booklet with printed pattern pieces.

The finished dimensions of the Starlet Clutch are 9" x 7" x 2.5" (23cm x 18cm x 6.5cm). The Leading Lady Oversized Clutch is 13" x 10" x 4" (33cm x 25.5cm x 10cm).

What fabrics did you use for your bag?

I used Mixologie linen by Studio M for Moda Fabrics, paired with Kona Navy and Kona Ice Frappe. The fabrics were provided by Simply Solids.

  • 0.75m (1yd) Lining fabric
  • 1 x FQ Fusible Fleece
  • (1) x 6" (15cm) #3 Zip
  • (1) x 8" (20.3cm) #3 Zip
  • (6) x Rivets with an 8mm post
  • 25cm x 50cm (10" x 20") of Foam stabiliser
  • 1m (1 1/4 yd) of 40" (102cm) wide medium weight interfacing

Leading Lady:
