Sampler Quilt Course starts Mon 13th May 10.30am-1.30pm
Patchwork for Beginners.
Patchwork is so popular and can be seen right from it's true origins in scrapping together bits of fabric and repurposing worn out goods through to beautiful decorative works of art and now more recently on the Dior catwalk used in stunning ways to create innovative garments. So, there's room for a huge array of modern uses as well as traditional quilts.
On this 8 week course you will make a sampler quilt with 6 different techniques forming a block each. You'll learn how to construct a block using techniques such as Nine Patch and Monkey Wrench; how to add sashing, borders; quilting (including free motion) and binding. We'll look at how patterns are put together and how to calculate your fabric requirements.
Course Dates are: Monday 13th and 20th May; 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th June; 1st and 8th July. Note there is no class on 27th May.
Time: 10.30am - 1.30pm
There are no "quilt police" in our classes. Anything goes. We just want to have some fun and create individual and unique pieces. So don't worry if you think you can't sew in a straight line yet!
