Dressmaking - Coats (3 Week Course) Thursday afternoons
NEW DATES ADDED as 1st one sold out so quickly.
Capsule Wardrobe - Course 2
Ever fancied making your own coat, but maybe lack confidence to give it a go?
This course is an ideal introduction to handling heavy weight fabrics and learning lots of coat making tips.
We'll learn by making an unlined, unconstructed coat; made from a heavy fabric with some drape.
We'll be using Burda 7700 but extending the length from a short jacket into a mid thigh coat. (Don't be fooled by the pictures on the pattern envelope into thinking it's more of a jacket. We will be making version B which both Julie and Pamela have made as full length coats and love to bits. There will also be the option to straighten up the front seam if you prefer. Julie will be doing this on the course as she wants another one!).
This forms part of our Capsule Wardrobe Sew Along which offers a 3 week course every half term starting with Trousers in Sept; Coat in Nov; Shirt Dress in Jan/Feb; Skirt in April/May and Summer Dress in June/July. We'll cover an array of dressmaking skills on these courses so they are an ideal follow on from our Start Dressmaking course. For each additional course you sign up to you will receive a 5% discount (e.g. your 2nd course will be 5% off, 3rd course 10% off, 4th course 15% off etc).
You do need dressmaking experience to join this course.
The pattern is included in the price of the course but the materials are not.
Dates: Thurs 14th, 21st and 28th November.
