Patchwork in a Day (Beginners) Saturday
Join in one of our quilt in a day classes and get a taster of patchwork and quilting.
In this class you'll make this wonderful quilt top using a charm pack (42 pieces that are 5" square). It's a great beginners quilt as you'll be using the experts to do your colour choosing for you. All you'll need to do is decide the background and border fabrics.
You can have a go at wavy quilting (time dependent) too! We used fleece on the back of ours to make a wonderful blanket ideal for cosying up into; but you could use wadding and cotton fabric on the back for a more traditional effect. Ours is a lap quilt size; but this pattern is easy to scale up into a full size quilt if you wanted to. There are so many options that we recommend using the day to build your skills rather than coming away with a finished quilt.
We have so many charm packs in the shop right now. From sunflowers to Christmas and everything in between. You can pick up your fabrics for this on the day if you come a little early and have run out of time or aren't local.
This class is suitable for first time patchworkers. You just need to know how to thread your machine and sew using a straight stitch to join this class (you don't need any patchwork experience).
