Learn to Sew (5 Week Course - Evenings)

A great introduction to your sewing machine or a refresher if it's been a while.

We start with the absolute basics including what equipment you need and cover an array of techniques including tension, seam finishes, interfacing and zips. Full handouts are available.

You'll make a number of items on the course; including a cushion cover, sewing mat, bag and zipped toiletry bag/purse. These will give you a really good grounding to use your machine and set you on your way on your sewing journey.

We also cover what can go wrong - showing you why and what to do if something doesn't go to plan.

Having and bringing along your own sewing machine is essential for this course but previous sewing experience is not at all.

Dates:

Monday 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th June; 1st July.

If you can't make one of the dates, let us know as it normally possible to do an abridged course over 4 weeks.

Time: 7pm-9.30pm.

All patterns we use are included in the price of the course; but the materials are not. If you aren't sure about what you have in the way of equipment or fabric just bring what you have along on the first week and we will happily advise.
