Dressmaking (Advanced) Trouser Making 3 Week Course
After a really successful trial run of this course; we will now be incorporating this class as a regular feature.
It's a lovely follow on from our Start Dressmaking course or other 1 day dressmaking classes.
Over 3 weeks we will learn the complexities of trouser making; from getting the right fit through to some classic trouser techniques such as front fly zip, pockets (welt and patch) and button fastening.
We will be using the Thea pattern from Tilly & The Buttons to make a wide legged pair of trousers that can be made either full length or cropped.
You must be confident in the use of your sewing machine and have made other garments already to join this course - it is not a beginners dressmaking course. If you are not sure about your experience, do ask us before booking.
The pattern is included in this class but the materials are not. The pattern comes in a size range of waist 24" to 53" and hip 33" to 61". You will be required to pick up the pattern prior to the class and roughly cut around the largest size of each pattern piece beforehand so that we are ready to go with sizing and pattern adjustments at the start.
This forms part of our Capsule Wardrobe Sew Along which offers a 3 week course every half term starting with Trousers in Sept; Coat in Nov; Shirt Dress in Jan/Feb; Skirt in April/May and Summer Dress in June/July. We'll cover an array of dressmaking skills on these courses so they are an ideal follow on from our Start Dressmaking course. For each additional course you sign up to you will receive a 5% discount (e.g. your 2nd course will be 5% off, 3rd course 10% off, 4th course 15% off etc).
