Memory Quilt Course (4 weeks Tuesday mornings)
Do you have your child's baby grows or small clothes tucked away in a box somewhere because you just can't bear to part with them? Do you have a loved ones old clothes or a stash of T-shirts that have sentimental value to you?
Why not make them into a beautiful quilt that you can then see every day? Or make one as a really special gift. We use all the features of their clothing - from the patterns to the labels to buttons and fastenings. Each square is specially designed to make the most of the features of the garment.
You'll also learn a whole raft of techniques - from how to use interfacing, the best styles of applique for this project and how to handle any fabrics with stretch. Plus of course some great patchwork techniques from cutting accurately to piecing, quilting and binding. It's a comprehensive course that does include some homework.
We include a 6 1/2" square ruler as a free gift on this course so that you have the right tools for the job!
You do need to know how to use a sewing machine to join this course but you do not need to be an expert. So long as you know how to thread the machine and bobbin you will be fine.
Dates - Tuesday 14th, 21st and 28th April; 5th May.
